Must-Visit Tourist Spots & Sacred Temples

1. Arasavalli Sun Temple

Dating back to the 7th century, Arasavalli is one of the oldest and most famous Sun Temples in India. Constructed by Kalinga rulers, the temple architecture is designed such that twice a year (in March and September), the early morning sun rays fall directly on the feet of the main deity, Surya Narayana Swamy.

2. Sri Kurmam Temple (Kurmanatha Temple)

Located 15 km from Srikakulam, this is the only temple in the entire world dedicated to the Kurma (Tortoise) avatar of Lord Vishnu. The temple has unique dual-facing flags (Dwajasthambams) and displays exquisite 13th-century murals and wall carvings.

3. Kalingapatnam Beach & Lighthouse

A clean and virtually untouched beach where the Vamsadhara River meets the Bay of Bengal. You can climb the historic British-era lighthouse for breathtaking panoramic views of the coast, or enjoy fresh local coconut water and hot snacks on the shore.

4. Mukhalingam Temple

Situated on the banks of the Vamsadhara river, this ancient temple complex features stunning stone carvings reminiscent of Konark architecture. It was once the capital of the Early Eastern Ganga dynasty.
