Discovered in 1807 by William King of the Geological Survey of India, the Borra Caves are million-year-old limestone caves located in the Ananthagiri hills of Araku Valley. Extending to a depth of over 80 meters and stretching across a kilometer, these caves feature magnificent stalactite and stalagmite formations created by the Gosthani River. The interior is dramatically illuminated by colorful mercury lighting, revealing natural rock structures shaped like a Shivalinga, a mother-child, and other symbolic figures. It is an archaeological and natural wonder that draws thousands of tourists daily.
