# Vizianagaram railway station needs second entrance in view of the increase in passenger traffic over the years

## Currently, the station has five platforms, with only one entrance located between the Mayuri and Venkateswara theatre junctions

Vizianagaram railway station needs a second entrance due to the increase in passenger traffic every year, said representatives of various organisations. Built between 1893 and 1896 during the British regime, the railway station has become a major junction under the South Coastal Railway limits.

The station handles as many as 180 passenger and goods trains that pass through it. Over 35,000 people travel daily in these trains as it provides connectivity to passengers travelling to Chennai, Howrah, Raipur and other cities.
