### Visakhapatnam District Completes SIR-2026 Electoral Digitisation
In a major administrative milestone, the Visakhapatnam district administration has successfully completed the digitisation of enumeration forms for all 20,23,009 electors as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026. Official confirmation was provided by Visakhapatnam District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore, who announced that the draft electoral roll will be published on July 31, 2026.
### Comprehensive Coverage Across 1,980 Polling Stations
The intensive exercise covered voters across all 1,980 polling stations in the district. The district machinery carried out the systematic distribution, collection, and digital entry of enumeration forms to ensure a thoroughly updated voter database.
To ensure maximum accuracy and prevent errors in the final database, officials integrated details from submitted forms alongside systematic updates for electors categorised under Absent, Shifted, Deceased, or Duplicate (ASDD).
### Rigorous Verification for 2.40 Lakh Excluded Entries
According to the district administration, a total of 2,40,209 names were identified within the ASDD category. To uphold the integrity of the electoral process, field verification teams conducted a fresh round of physical checks for electors whose enumeration forms were not received by the initial deadline of July 14. This rigorous field verification helped refine the database quality before finalizing the draft publication.
### Important Information for Voters: Claim Period and Form 6 Submission
With the draft voter list scheduled for release on July 31, residents are encouraged to verify their details.
District Collector M. Abhishikth Kishore stated that any eligible citizen whose name has been left out or who needs to register anew can apply for inclusion using **Form 6**. The window for submitting applications and raising claims or objections will remain open from **July 31 to August 30, 2026**.
