# Srikakulam girl student’s suspicious death turns out a murder

Visakhapatnam: The suspicious death of a 17-year-old tribal girl student at Hiramandalam of Srikakulam district has turned into a murder. The police have nabbed 55-year-old contractor Kalavala Venkateswara Rao for sexually assaulting and killing the girl.It may be recalled that a 17-year-old girl was found dead under mysterious circumstances on March 24. The victim girl's parents are natives of Patha Hiramandalam village, eking out a livelihood by doing various chores. The couple knew one person, Kalavala Venkateswara Rao, a native of S Kota in Vizianagaram district, for the past seven years. Rao admitted the couple's daughter to a private junior college. After completion of the intermediate exams, the girl was taken away by Rao under the pretext of education and communication in English on March 22.On March 24, Rao informed the girl's parents over phone that the girl suffered severe stomach pain, collapsed with bleeding from the nose and died. He took the body of the victim in his car and handed it over to the parents. The family performed cremation.Based on the complaint from the victim's parents, the police registered a case. The investigation has revealed that Venkateswara Rao repeatedly sexually assaulted the girl on March 22 and 23 in Vizag. However, they fought over an issue, and Rao murdered the girl and informed her parents that the girl died of ill health. The police said they arrested Rao and further investigation is on.
