### Magisterial Inquiry Progresses in Uttarakhand

In a crucial legal development concerning the mysterious death of 27-year-old Visakhapatnam-based software engineer Parupudi Radha Gayatri, Sub-Divisional Magistrate and Mussoorie Joint Magistrate Rahul Anand has formally recorded the statement of the current Investigating Officer (IO), JC Pant.

The official enquiry is part of an ongoing magisterial probe aimed at unraveling the circumstances that led to Gayatri’s tragic death while on vacation in Uttarakhand.

### Tragic Incident on Mussoorie-Dhanaulti Road

Radha Gayatri and her husband, Sri Charan Somayajula—also an IT professional hailing from Visakhapatnam—got married in November 2025. On June 15, while the couple was vacationing, Gayatri was discovered dead under highly suspicious conditions at a homestay located on the Mussoorie-Dhanaulti Road.

Following preliminary investigations, the local police registered a case of murder under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) against Sri Charan and placed him under arrest.

### Bail Denied and Remand Extended

Gayatri’s parents, Sudhakar and Satyavati, have formally alleged that Sri Charan subjected their daughter to severe mental harassment, eventually leading to her murder.

In the latest court updates, the court rejected Sri Charan’s bail application and granted a further extension of his judicial remand as authorities deepen their probe.

### Toxicology Report to Determine Cause of Death

During the proceedings, Magistrate Rahul Anand questioned the investigating team regarding the progress of the case. IO JC Pant informed the magistrate that police officials are actively discussing the findings and will seek expert medical advice to interpret the forthcoming toxicology report. This medical evaluation will be critical in determining the precise cause and severity of Gayatri's death.
