Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) has officially won an interstate transmission project valued at approximately ₹8,500 crore in Andhra Pradesh. This strategic development is designed to supply reliable power to upcoming green hydrogen and green ammonia projects across the Visakhapatnam region.

### Powering Green Energy and Digital Infrastructure Awarded under the Central government's Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) framework, the project will adequately support an estimated power demand of around 4,500 MW from proposed green molecule projects in Vizag. Additionally, it aims to reinforce grid capacity within the Pendurthi–Visakhapatnam corridor, a crucial zone currently seeing large-scale investments in data centers and digital infrastructure.

### Project Infrastructure and Network Expansion The transmission system will be executed through a dedicated special purpose vehicle named Vizag Power Transmission Ltd. The initiative involves the construction of two high-capacity substations located at Pendurthi in Vizag and Khammam-II.

Key infrastructure additions include: - Approximately 1,582 circuit kilometers of new transmission lines. - 10,500 MVA of added transformation capacity to the AESL portfolio.

Following this expansion, AESL's overarching transmission network will grow to 29,531 circuit kilometers, while its total transformation capacity will surge to roughly 1,33,675 MVA.

Kandarp Patel, CEO of Adani Energy Solutions Ltd, stated, "The Vizag transmission project is an important step in building the energy backbone for India’s next generation of industrial growth. It will support the development of green hydrogen and green ammonia capacity in Andhra Pradesh, while also strengthening the grid for emerging digital infrastructure demand in the Pendurthi–Vizag region."

### Strategic Growth for Visakhapatnam Scheduled for completion within 30 months, the project arrives as Andhra Pradesh actively establishes a robust green energy ecosystem centered around Visakhapatnam. The region uniquely leverages a solid industrial base, comprehensive port infrastructure, and vast renewable energy potential. Because green hydrogen and green ammonia production necessitate massive volumes of dependable renewable power, high-capacity transmission lines remain vital to these investments.

Furthermore, Visakhapatnam is experiencing heightened commercial interest from digital infrastructure developers, with planned hyperscale data centers, artificial intelligence infrastructure, and subsea connectivity initiatives anticipated to generate supplementary electricity demand.

With this latest contract secured, AESL's overall transmission order book has comfortably surpassed ₹80,000 crore, further cementing its industry standing as India's premier private-sector transmission and distribution enterprise.
