Four persons in the car died on the spot, while another person suffered serious injuries and was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Four persons were killed and another sustained severe injuries in a road accident after the car they were travelling in rammed into a lorry on National Highway-16 near Sattaravu Junction (Gandigundam locality) in Anandapuram on the outskirts of Vizag city on Sunday morning.The police said the car was heading towards Srikakulam from Narsaraopeta of Guntur, crashed into the lorry at high speed, resulting in a severe impact.Four persons in the car died on the spot, while another person suffered serious injuries and was shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The deceased persons and injured were native of Guntur district. The identities of the deceased are yet to be officially established.The Anandapuram police in Vizag city rushed to the accident spot. The bodies of the deceased were shifted for post-mortem examination. The police have begun investigation into the incident to establish the exact reasons such as over-speeding coupled with drowsiness for the fatal road crash.
